EMBARQ Brasil helps companies and governments in the development and implementation of sustainable solutions to transport and mobility problems in Brazilian cities.By promoting sustainable transport, EMBARQ Brasil is working to reduce pollution, improve public health, reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and create urban public spaces which offer safe, accessible and pleasant coexistence.

Under thier organisation the Mayors´ Summit and the Cities & Transport International Congress will take place on Sept 9th and 10-11th respectively in September 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Summit: Embarq Brasil hosts the mayors' summit with the following transformed cities:CURITIBA, LONDON, SAN FERNANDO, PORTLAND, BOGOTÁ, BARCELONA, NEW YORK. Visionary leaders reinvented these cities and today are examples of political will, innovation and focus on sustainable development. For the summit mayors will present their experiences, from motivation to the challenges and strategies to make their sustainable cities. Share ideas on how to face skepticism and oppositional campaigns to your projects. Present experience on lessons learned, gathered in an open letter for today and future mayors, encouraging actions and building sustainable cities, where people can develop their skills and be happy.

The Congress: By 2030, another 1.5 billion people and more than 1 billion vehicles will have been added to cities around the world. The choices of today will mark the lives of billions of people. Cities need holistic solutions, measurable goals, healthy accountability mechanisms and innovative national policies. Cities need knowledge and tools to promote sustainable urbanization. The themes for the congress are:

  • Transportation and Urban Mobility

  • Sustainable Urban Development
