Webinar: China’s BRT Development In the Last Decade

The BRT – Centre of Excellence webinar “China’s BRT development in the last decade”, presented by Xumei Chen, will be hold on Tuesday April 19th, 8:30 (CST, GMT +08:00).

Ms. Chen works as an associate professor of the China Academy of Transportation Sciences under the instruction of Ministry of Transportation, China. Her main research area includes low carbon transport policies, public transport policies, energy conservation and emission reduction technologies as well as climate adaptation.

Summary:

The presentation will give a brief overview of China’s BRT development in the cities in the last decade, some survey was made in the BRT cities on the system construction and operation.Concept of TOD will be introduced in accordance with the best practice in the BRT cities.The emphasis will focus on the lessons learned on the BRT corridor construction, the infrasturcture, and the station design.

Bio:

Ms. Xumei Chen graduated from the Department of Automotive Engineering in Tsinghua University with a bachelor’s degree, Ms. Xumei Chen also holds a master’s degree in Energy and Climate Economics. With 8 years of working experiences in the urban transport and climate change area, Xumei has worked for China Academy of Transportation Sciences, the National Development and Reform Commission of China (NDRC) and International Transport Forum (ITF/OECD) as a transport expert and project manager and she has been actively involved in international cooperation projects.
