Side Event at COP21: “International Shipping GHG emissions: Recent Trends and Future Projections”

The side event will be organized by the European Climate Foundation (ECF), the Denmark mission, the European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E), and the Nature and Biodiversity Conversation Union (NABU).  describe the key drivers of the international shipping emissions and present the opportunities for achieving absolute emissions reductions in the sector, whilst ensuring that growth in world trade and demand for international shipping is not constrained.
Speakers (TBC): Niklas Höhne (NewClimate Institute), Simon Maxwell (IDO/CDKN), John Christensen (UDP), UNEP ED or DED, high-level panelists, ministers/ lead negotiators
