Regional Dialogue on Sustainable Transport Actions to Mitigate Climate Change in Latin America

The event will be held on the framework of the 4th Latin-American Low Emission Development Strategies (LEDS LAC) Annual Workshop, as part of the Paris Process on Mobility and Climate (PPMC) which was initiated by the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) and Michelin Challenge Bibendum, which combines over 200 organizations.
The aim of the side event is to establish a dialogue with the transport community of the Region before COP21, by covering primary topic areas as related to sustainable transport, like raising pre-2020 level of ambition through the development of NAMAs, the establishment of LEDS and defining post-2020 targets (i.e. via INDCs).
This dialogue seeks the countries of the Latin America raise their levels of ambition pre -2020 through the development of NAMAs and the establishment of LEDS and include the sector in the post-2020 goals mitigation, through the dissemination of knowledge and establishing dialogue between them and transport experts.
To do this, there will be a group of countries in the region to present the actions they are taking on these issues, and share their experiences and challenges in coordinating different levels of government (national, regional and local) to achieve of such shares, in order to maximize interaction and exchange of knowledge among peers.
As part of its activities, the Carbon Community Transport Finance Platform is hosting a live broadcast of the regional dialogue on Tuesday, October 13, from 11:30 to 13:00 (time of Dominican Republic, UTC -4) for the annual workshop of the PlatformLEDS LAC to be held at the Hotel Melia, Punta Cana.
 
People who are interested in the live broadcast can participate from any computer or mobile device connected to the Internet.

The SLoCat Partnership will ensure that the outcomes and possible recommendations of this dialogue land through the PPMC in Paris.
