The Transport Knowledge Base (TraKB) by SLOCAT is a large database on information about sustainable transport. It unites all existing datasets collected by SLOCAT (e.g. Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), B(U)Rs, National Communications (NCs), Voluntary National Reviews, climate-finance instrument projects) as well as valuable data from various external sources (e.g. transport activity, emissions, air quality, road safety). All major mobility modes (e.g. aviation, high-speed rail, bus rapid transit, urban rail, cars, cycling, walking) are cover in the Excel-based database. TraKB gives users a one-click access to all major exclusive SLOCAT datasets.
All information contained in the TraKB, unless otherwise noted, is licensed under Creative Commons — Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). Under this license, users are allowed to share (i.e. copy and redistribute data in any form) and adapt (i.e. build upon the data for any purpose) as long as appropriate credit is provided.
TraKB and the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report 2018
The TraKB supports the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report 2018 (TCC-GSR). Figures and data of the TCC-GSR are mainly based on the TraKB.
The TraKB is an Excel-based data platform which can be downloaded here. The current version as of December 2018 is Version 0.2.
Development of TraKB by SLOCAT
In May 2017, the SLOCAT team started the work on gathering data on transport and development of a database to integrate varied information. The result of this activity is the Transport Knowledge Base (TraKB) Version 0.1. TraKB is SLoCaT’s new central data repository.
Future updates of the TraKB are planned to include more data and new functions. If you would like to contribute transport data or have any feedback on the TraKB, please contact Nikola Medimorec (email@example.com).
