Gender, Mobility and Transport

This report was produced by Xiomara Acevedo Navarro, a participant of the Young Leaders in Sustainable Transport in 2019.

Transport is contributing to the urbanization in cities and rural territories but also has became a source of urban pollution and GHG emissions. Black carbon is considered the second polluter of the atmosphere behind the carbon dioxide. But there is also an important issue regarding transport and is gender. In terms of mobility and transport, women in Colombia present issues regarding the violation of their right to have their physical, psychological and moral integrity respected.

This report has been produced by the author as part of the “Young Leaders for Sustainable Transport” programme launched by the SLOCAT Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport and the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF).
