The Transport and Climate Change 2018 Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) describes trends in transport emissions and illustrates policies as well as policy targets across all transport sub-sectors. It sets a baseline that helps to capture the progress of transport in regard to climate action. The TCC-GSR is a key resource for policy-makers to support raising ambition on climate action (mitigation and adaptation) in sustainable transport.
The TCC-GSR is a key resource to increase ambition in UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). It offers policy-makers and practitioners a compilation of 180 policy examples from over 70 countries. The TCC-GSR provides a data repository on transport and climate change (compiled in the Transport Knowledge Base (TraKB)), combining quantitative and qualitative data in more than 60 figures.
The first edition of the TCC-GSR was released in December 2018 with the support of more than 20 authors and 40 contributors and 50 peer reviewers from more than 30 organisations. Since its release, the report has been used for outreach and trainings on transport and climate change in various parts of the world.
