Planning Workshop for TRANSPerú, Peru– Wednesday, December 3rd, 2014 (all-day)
The Steering Committee of the TRANSPerú NAMA was established early in 2014 with the objective to effectively and efficiently develop and implement the NAMA. The Committee consists of the most relevant national ministries and institutions and is facilitated by a technical secretariat (GIZ). It serves as a common discussion and decision making platform, reports to the ministers, coordinates the activities within the framework of the NAMA, and identifies synergies among the ministries. The Committee meets on a monthly basis and follows an annually established joint work plan. In the Planning Workshop the members of the Committee will plan the activities that will be carried out during 2015. (Organized by TRANSfer)

Climate Finance Expert Group Meeting-Thursday December 4th, 8 am – 2pm
The TRANSfer project has initiated activities to promote the uptake of the use of climate finance in sustainable transport and ensure that climate finance is increasingly used for sustainable transport in an effective way to realize the large GHG emission reduction potential in the sector. On this meeting, the interdisciplinary Expert Group on Promoting Climate Finance for Sustainable Transport will discuss further steps to enhance the outreach as well as options to upscale innovative financing mechanisms. Transport Day 2014- Sunday December 7th @ 8:30 am- 7pm
Transport Day 2014 is the annual event organized by SLoCaT Partnership and Bridging the GAP Initiative on transport and climate change. The whole day event brings a wide range of stakeholders together especially Parties and experts, to increase the understanding of how transport plays a vital role in addressing climate change. This year with its motto of “Transport Tackles Climate Change”, Transport Day 2014 will have a special focus on how to make use of the momentum created on low-carbon transport at the September 2014 Climate Summit hosted by Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the road to Paris 2015, when a global new climate change agreement is expected to be adopted. Side Event: Sustainable Urban Transport NAMA – TRANSPerú- Monday December 8th, 2014 (Time TBD)
The purpose of the event is to present the Sustainable Urban Transport NAMA, the sector policy matrix, financing options and lessons learned. Also a panel of experts would discuss about the challenges and opportunities for its implementation. The overarching goal of the NAMA Peru is that the implementation of key structural changes promotes the transformation of the Peruvian urban transport sector towards a sustainable and low-carbon sector, following the Avoid-Shift-Improve (A-S-I) approach.
