$75 billion delivered to finance climate action in development countries by MDB, Joint Report says

Averting dangerous climate change requires mobilizing financial resources from a wide range of sources, aneed described in the 2013 joint report on climate finance in developing countries by a group of leading multilateral development banks (MDBs). Since 2011, MDBs have delivered over US$75 billion in financing for climate action in developing countries, including both climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. The report shows that in 2013, the transport sector received 22% of total mitigation finance assistance (US$4,230 million); on the adaptation side, the combined sectors of energy/transport/infrastructure received 30% of total assistance (US$1,422 million).
