The Global Urban Mobility Challenge 2019 started! The Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) is a close partner of SLoCaT and just announced the second competition on urban mobility. The deadline for submissions is 21 December 2018.

Global Urban Mobiity Challenge 2019 

Cities in developing countries and emerging economies face bigger challenges than ever. Innovation is not optional – it provides the foundation for successful urban futures. Winning cities will receive funding of up to 200,000 Euros to transform their urban mobility visions into reality. On top of that, winners will benefit from an exclusive in-kind service package including on-site consulting, project implementation support and priority access to TUMI. Project topics can cover a wide range from active mobility, logistics, new operating models to e-mobility.

TUMI – We transform urban mobility

The Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) is the leading global implementation initiative, focused on urban mobility. Together with 11 global partners we support cities in transforming their transport systems. The initiative was established by the German Government in cooperation with ADB, CAF, C40, GIZ, ICLEI, ITDP, KfW, SLoCaT, UN-Habitat and WRI at the 2016 UN Habitat III conference in Quito, Ecuador. A transition towards sustainable urban mobility requires a shift in policy-making and investment decisions. Hence, we support capacity building for more than 1,500 urban mobility decision-makers, seed funding to scale and replicate innovative pilot projects and have so far committed € 1.4 Billion of financing towards large scale urban mobility infrastructure projects.
