The world’s leading conference on walking, XV Walk21 International Conference on Walking and Liveable Communities will be held on 21-23 October, 2014 in Sydney, Australia. The conference will be hosted jointly by NSW Government and the City of Sydney.
The conference will provide a platform to unpack the policies that are working and helping New South Wales, and the iconic City of Sydney in particular, to be more walkable. Over the three days of shared debate, it is hoped that delegates will contribute to and take back some of the Sydney success to benefit their own communities. The organizers invite all walking enthuiasts, whether they are a passionate politician, a concerned campaigner or a progressive practitioner, to share their experience and be part of the discussion at Walk21 Sydney in October 2014.
The highlighted topics of this year’s conference will focus on funding walking and the economics of walking. Some of the prominent speakers will be Lloyd Wright from ADB and Tyler Norris from Kaiser Permanente looking at this issue from the different perspectives of health and transport.
