Velo-city 2016 will be hosted from February 27 to March 1 2016. Velo-city Global 2016 will focus on discussing the profound impact of the evolution of cycling.
Velo-city began in 1980 in Bremen, Germany with deep ties in the founding of the European Cyclists’ Federation. Since then conferences have been held in cities including Copenhagen, Brussels, Barcelona and Montreal. Velo-city conferences are now attracting about 1,000 delegates.
The Velo-city Global 2016 conference program is designed around the five themes:
The Velo-city Global 2016 represents the evolution of cycling from urban transitioning, lifestyles changing, economics and sharing, to design in motion. The program will include 28 parallel sessions, distributed over subjects relevant to the five themes of Velo-city Global 2016. This is an interactive conference, built around several innovative sessions designed to engage the audience. Parallel sessions will be in the formats of lecture, workshop, panel discussion, two-way track, speed dating, and pecha-kucha. Parallel sessions will include invited talks from UITP, German Cycling Embassy, Dutch Cycling Embassy, and Danish Cycling Embassy, and a diverse range of contributions selected from a successful abstracts submission process. The parallel sessions provide a variety of multi-disciplinary approaches to cycling issues with a special emphasis on Asian and Western exchange.
