As part of the preparatory process of the 22nd session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) to be hosted in Morocco next November, Autoroutes du Maroc (Moroccan Highways Company) – an esteemed member of IRF Geneva – is organising an international conference on sustainable mobility.
IRF Geneva is pleased to support this event scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco on 20th September 2016. The conference is held under the umbrella of COP22 and has the objective to mobilize and ensure the engagement of political, institutional, technical and financial actors as well as civil society so that mobility issues can be included in the agenda of negotiations on climate change.
The conclusions of the conference will be brought to the table of COP22. It is important to raise awarenes of policy makers on the importance of taking into account the challenges to be faced when planning transport infrastructure that can deliver sustainable mobility.
The conference will also be an opportunity to develop a roadmap for the implementation of the milestones of sustainable mobility in Morocco.
