GFEI event at TRB Annual Meeting, 10 Jan 2017, Washington, DC

The Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) will be hosting its event during the TRB Annual Meeting to share work and achievements for 2016 and to outline next steps and present new research.

During the course of 2016 GFEI has been strengthening its global commitment in putting fuel economy on the global agenda by engaging in key international policy processes to drive action. GFEI has also provided support to countries looking to introduce fuel economy policies through national, regional and global events. At COP21 40 countries had made new commitments to improving their fuel economy by 50 % by 2050, bringing the total to 65 countries which are supported by GFEI’s in-country work. The GFEI presented progress on its work at the COP22 conference in Marrakech last month. The year ends on a high note as GFEI was recognised in the COP22 roundup on transport for its incredible progress.

The side event will take place on Tuesday 10 January at 7am (breakfast will be served) at the Walter E Convention Centre, room East Overlook.

TRB registration will not be necessary if attending only the side event and no TRB events.
