The Michelin Challenge Bibendum Open Lab

The intention of the Michelin Challenge Bibendum is to show that progress really is being made in mobility and the future is bright for transportation that benefits society. There is a gap between what exists today, the challenges faced (in terms of energy, the environment, safety, and widespread access to effective mobility), and the slowness of the decision-making processes around the world.

21st Conference of the Parties (COP21)

In 2015, France will be hosting and presiding the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21/CMP11), otherwise known as “Paris 2015” from November 30th to December 11th. COP21 will be a crucial conference, as it needs to achieve a new international agreement on the climate, applicable to all countries, with the aim of keeping global warming below 2°C.

Side Event at COP21: “Linking ambition to action- Success factors for low carbon development pathways in transport sectors”

The side event will be organized by the Transport Research Foundation (TRF) and Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP). Once countries have agreed on INDCs and mitigation targets in December, the next big challenge is to put in place policies and measures that satisfy these ambitions. Policy makers/ implementers will discuss success factors for moving from concept to implementation in low carbon transport policies.
