CODATU XV – "The role of urban mobility in (re)shaping cities"

The CODATU XV conference will allow various players to share their points of view and reach a consensus regarding the different approaches to urban mobility. These may be distinguished firstly in terms of scope of application (whether they tackle global or local issues), and secondly in terms of time (whether they take into account a short or long-term outlook).

Cooperation for urban mobility in the developing world (CODATU) was created in 1980 following a seminal international conference on urban transport in Dakar, Senegal.

Resilient Design for Sustainable Urbanization: Sustainable Urban Mobility

In celebration of the World Habitat Day 2013, the United Nations Human Settlement Programme (UN-Habitat), the Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization, the Center for Resilient Design at New Jersey Institute of Technology, and the American Institute Architects New York join to host a high-level discussion, which will cover key developments in the area of resilient design. In the years leading to the HABITAT III Conference, and the post 2015 development agenda solutions will be sought for the challenges, in an era of ever increasing urbanization and disasters that impact urban areas.

Urban Mobility in India

The Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference and Expo is an annual event with the overarching theme which runs across all the aspects of urban mobility and is organized by the Institute of Urban Transport (India) under the aegis of the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. UMI is mandated by the National Urban Transport Policy of the Government of India, 2006 (NUTP). The objective of UMI is to bring together urban transport professionals and officials in the country as well as international experts to enable them to share views and to share their experiences.

Moving towards the Implementation of Safe, Affordable and Sustainable Urban Mobility in Latin America and the Caribbean

Among the guiding principles of the New Urban Agenda (NAU) is the importance of strengthening mobility and sustainable urban transport. Likewise, the proposed Regional Action Plan for the implementation of NAU also seeks to promote sustainable modes of transport in the face of the challenges of climate change, urbanization and urban population growth.
