  • Nearly every country agreed to “transition away” from all fossil fuels to reach net zero. – Countries are encouraged to submit “economy-wide” NDCs by 2025.
  • The decision on the First Global Stocktake calls on countries to “accelerating the reduction of emissions from road transport on a range of pathways, including through development of infrastructure and rapid deployment of zero- and low-emission vehicles.”
  • Over 120 countries pledged global targets to triple renewables and double energy efficiency by 2030. A significant part of the efforts needed to deliver such goals will have to ocme from the transport sector.
