The transport sector has a critical role to play in achieving climate change mitigation targets and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and further alignment is needed between the Paris Agreement on climate change and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development to realise the full potential of sustainable low-carbon transport in achieving these goals.
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the SLOCAT Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport invite you to a webinar on transport synergies between climate action through the Paris Agreement and sustainable development through the 2030 Agenda.
Date: Tuesday, 15 September 2020
Time: 15:00 CEST (Brussels) / 16:00 AST (Jeddah)
Duration: 90 minutes
The webinar will introduce a recent report which links the processes of developing, implementing and tracking progress toward Nationally-Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs). The report and information on other activities by SLOCAT and IsDB can be found here.
The webinar will illustrate the guidance framework developed to identify synergies in the development, implementation and reporting on sustainable transport for IsDB member countries through NDCs and VNRs. The webinar will include interactive exercises to increase the understanding of the guidance components, with questions to be shared beforehand.
Please use this registration form. The webinar link and questions will be shared with all who register by Monday 14 September. We look forward to your participation!
