Governments Call for Eliminating Fossil-Fuel Subsidies

17 April 2015: A communiqué signed by the members of the Friends of Fossil Fuel Subsidy Reform group calls for countries to prioritize the phase-out of fossil-fuel subsidies ahead of the Paris Climate Change Conference. The Friends are urging all governments to endorse the statement; France and the US are the first countries outside the Friends groups to do so.

Rural Transport Factsheet

SLoCaT Partnership and AFCAP-ESCAP have developed a factsheet on how to support the integration of rural transport in the Post-2015 development agenda. While the need for improved rural transport is not featured prominently in the proposed SDGs, improved rural access can directly contribute to the achievement of several SDGs. The facesheet explains the importance of rural transport interventions, how they can be integrated with other sectors, and the role of rural access in strengthening the current SDG process.
