10 principles guide urban decision-makers and stakeholders in the transition to new mobility services 

The pace of technology-driven innovation from the private sector in shared transportation services, vehicles and networks is rapid, accelerating and filled with opportunity, as well as risks. The impending advent of self-driving vehicles, for example, will have a profound impact on livelihoods, congestion and urban land use. At the same time, city streets are a finite and scarce resource.

The joint Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) and Michelin “Movin´On” initiative Paris Process on Mobility and Climate (PPMC) in consultation with many transport stakeholders has developed a global vision for the transformation of transport the Global Macro Roadmap.

The International Transport Forum at the OECD has a new Secretary-General. Dr. Young Tae Kim, a Korean national, has taken up his position at the organisation’s Paris headquarters on 21 August. SLoCaT is looking forward to working with new Secretary-General. Dr. Young Tae Kim and supporting him in the execution of his future duties.

Kim is the first non-European to lead the world’s only all-modes transport organisation.

The Paris Process on Mobility and Climate (PPMC), a joint initiative of the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) and Michelin Challenge Bibendum (MCB), has updated its COP 23 Planning Note. 

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders in September 2015 and aimed at stimulating actions to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path (Figure 1). 

An assessment has been developed by the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) to evaluate the status of reporting of 18 countries in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region to the six global agreements on sustainable development and climate change.
