SLoCaT consultations on Work Program 2013

Building on the Rio+20 momentum for Sustainable Transport SLoCaT partnership members will have  informal discussions how to ensure that the SLoCaT partnership can continue to go on to inspire the sustainable transport community and help shape sustainable development in the years to come.

ADB Transport Forum 2012: Inclusive and Sustainable Transport

ADB will hold its third Transport Forum this November 2012 focusing on the theme "Inclusive and Sustainable Transport." Featuring the world's leading transport experts, key developing member country officials and ADB transport staff, the forum will provide the opportunity to discuss and debate the most critical issues facing transport today in the Asia Pacific region.  

Workshop on Linked Open Data for Clean Energy

On November 12th 2012, NREL and REEEP teamed up to give a dedicated Linked Open Data workshop in Washington DC.  The 26 attendees at Linked Open Data for Clean Energyincluded the Climate Institute, the Inter-American Development Bank, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Global Green Growth Institute and several departments from the World Bank.

COP – Mobility: Combine Our Possibilities for a Low Carbon Future

How the integration of sustainable modes (rail, metro, bus, non-motorized) enables a low-carbon mobility system. The event will give practical examples of combined mobility systems worldwide, and their climate mitigation potential.

Transport and NAMAs – what progress?

This first Transport and Climate Change Expert day is welcome at COP 18, Doha. It allows Parties and other interested experts to discuss transport-related climate change issues in greater detail than at the official side events which are limited to 90 minutes. The programme will frame the problem, share the latest thinking especially in Transport NAMAs (t-NAMAs), policy and technological developments and outline possible opportunities for transport within the present negotiations. It will also propose key messages that will require further support from Parties.

Bridging the Gap between Transport and Climate Change in Africa

This event will provide an update on current actions in Africa to develop sustainable transport systems and reduce emissions from the transport sector. Co organised by Bridging the Gap partners and UN-Habitat. Speakers from Africa will address opportunities for technology transfer, T-NAMAs and CDM.

Better Air Quality Conference on "Growing Cities, Healthy Cities"

The Better Air Quality conference (BAQ) will be held in Hong Kong from 5 to 7 December 2012. The BAQ 2012 on  "Growing Cities, Healthy Cities" is reflecting on the challenge of creating livable cities with blue skies and a low carbon footprint in the face of increasing urbanization, and ensuring that people’s health is no longer affected by poor air quality. The BAQ conference is the flagship event of CAI-Asia. This biennial event brings leading experts, policy and decision makers together to network, learn and share experiences on air quality management.

5th Urban Mobility India Conference Cum Exhibition (UMI – 2012)

The 5th Annual Urban Mobility Conference cum Exhibition will be held from December 5th to 8th at the Manekshaw Centre at Dhaula Kuan Delhi. The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India to disseminate up to date information on urban transport to City and State Government officials. Local and international experts are invited to present case studies on various topics of current interest. Industry participates in the exhibition.
