The United Nations Climate Change Conference, Durban 2011, will bring together representatives of the world's governments, international organizations and civil society. The discussions will seek to advance the implementation of the Convention and the Kyoto Protocol, as well as the Bali Action Plan, agreed at COP 13 in 2007, and the Cancun Agreements, reached at COP 16 last December.
The TRANSfer project will organize Towards Roadmaps for MRV of Transport NAMAs International Expert Workshop on November 15, 2013. The by-invitation only workshop is a side event to the UNFCCC Climate Change Conference (COP 19) in Warsaw and a pre-event to Transport Day 2013.
Top experts will report on progress evaluating sustainable transport impacts on sustainable development considering economic development, health, and the environment. Key policy-makers will discuss the relevance of findings for post-2020 carbon mitigation and global sustainable development goals.
This year, the United Nations Conference of Parties (COP) 20 will take place between December 1-12 2014 in Lima, Peru. During the COP, there will be several side events on a range of topics on climate change.
INDCs are expected to become key components of a new climate change agreement, and thus Parties to the Convention must think critically about sectorial approaches. In this context, bold mitigation strategies in the transport sector will be an essential element of raising pre-2020 ambition and meeting post-2020 national targets.
The SLOCAT Partnership will be engaged at the Africa Climate Week 2020. More content to be added.
