We are pleased to invite you to participate in the online kick-off event of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) – Transport Initiative for Asia (TIA) – India Component.
In India, the NDC-TIA programme is being implemented by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) under its International Climate Initiative (IKI). A consortium of partners will be working to facilitate stakeholder processes and develop selected climate actions.
The aim of the NDC-TIA India Component is to promote a comprehensive approach to decarbonising transport through coherent policies and strategies, coordinated among ministries, civil society organisations and the private sector.
Join us at the virtual kick-off event on Thursday, 27 August 2020 from 14:30 to 16:15 CET/ 18:00 to 19:45 IST. Through the online kick-off we propose to inform relevant stakeholders about the NDC-TIA India Component objectives and planned activities.

Keynote addresses will be given by Mr. Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog and Dr. Karsten Sach, Director General IK, International and European Policy, Climate Policy, BMU. In addition, Ms. Corinna Küsel, Director South Asia, GIZ and, Mr. Stephan Grabherr, Deputy Ambassador, German Embassy will also deliver their remarks.
The consortium partners of NDC-TIA include: World Resources Institute (WRI), International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), International Transport Forum (ITF), Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century e.V. (REN21), Agora Verkehrswende and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
