New SLOCAT Board of Directors to steer the partnership into our next Strategic Development Plan
Following the launch of the election process back in May 2022, we are excited to announce the final composition of the SLOCAT Board of Directors 2022-2025. This gender-, geographical- and background-balanced Board of Directors brings together an extraordinary wealth of expertise across the transport and mobility, energy, climate and cities sectors. The diversity of this group of world-class experts reflects the integrated, inter-modal, multi-dimensional and multi-stakeholder approaches for transforming transport and mobility that SLOCAT champions. This will be especially critical as the Board’s mandate in supporting, overseeing and advancing the work of the Partnership will overlap with the period for the elaboration and roll out of the next SLOCAT Strategic Development Plan, following from the first ever one in 2020-2022.
As stipulated in SLOCAT governance rules, the Board of Directors consists of 13 seats: 5 seats issued from the membership, 4 issued from the supporters of the SLOCAT Foundation and 4 filled by independent members. They are elected for a 3-year mandate and are re-eligible once.
For the 2022-2025 mandate, the election process was overseen by the stipulated Independent Election Committee and completed in June 2022. The Committee consisted of Mr. Oliver Lah (Chair), Wuppertal Institute; Mr. Carlos Felipe Pardo, New Urban Mobility Alliance; and Ms. Winnie Mitullah, Nairobi University, Institute for Development Studies; to whom we are grateful for generously devoting their time to the governance of our Partnership in this busy time of the year. On 13th July 2022, Chair and Treasurer were elected among Board member peers and the appointment of Independent Members was completed.
From the Secretariat, we wish to extend our warmest congratulations and welcome to this new Board of Directors; as well as our sincerest gratitude to the outgoing members of the SLOCAT Board of Directors 2019-2022 who tirelessly stewarded and supported our Partnership during the transition at the Secretariat and a period of global disruption.
We feel empowered by the expertise and dedication of the successive SLOCAT Board of Directors to inspire meaningful impact for our Partnership over the years, as we power the sustainable, low carbon transport revolution with ambition, solutions and collaboration.
We very much look forward to working closely with our Board and our Partners and bringing the Partnership towards its next chapter.
