SLOCAT Welcomes Bridges to Prosperity as New Partner

May 29, 2025

SLOCAT is thrilled to welcome Bridges to Prosperity (B2P) as the newest member of our growing global Partnership. Their proven commitment to connecting rural communities with vital services through sustainable infrastructure is a powerful addition to our ecosystem of change-makers working towards more equitable, low-carbon transport and mobility systems.

Bridges to Prosperity is a non-profit organisation that envisions a world where poverty caused by rural isolation no longer exists. They build trail bridges over impassable rivers in remote areas to provide safe, year-round access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities. In doing so, they address one of the most overlooked root causes of poverty: disconnection.

B2P’s approach is grounded in strong partnerships with governments and communities. Their work goes beyond construction; each bridge project is part of a long-term effort to create transformational change at the local level, backed by rigorous data collection and impact evaluation.

By joining the SLOCAT Partnership, Bridges to Prosperity brings on-the-ground experience in rural mobility that complements our collective efforts to make transport systems more inclusive and resilient. Their focus on infrastructure that responds to real community needs is a strong reminder of why transport must serve people first.

Bridges to Prosperity’s evidence-based work to eliminate rural isolation through climate-resilient transport infrastructure speaks directly to our shared goal of championing inclusive and sustainable mobility that provides access to services and jobs, and enables vibrant economic activity. Their expertise in rural access, low-carbon transport, and inclusive planning strengthens our global movement for transport systems that serve people and the planet. We look forward to working with B2P to ensure rural voices and needs from the Global South are central to the just transition.

As we navigate the challenges of climate change, inequality, and resilience  , SLOCAT believes that partnerships like this will help shift the narrative from disconnected transport systems and fragmented policies to bold, grounded, and human-centred transport solutions.

Together with Bridges to Prosperity, we aim to amplify the voices of those often left behind and promote practical solutions that bring transport equity to the heart of thriving communities and economies in a liveable planer.
