The Transport Greenhouse Gas Emissions Database Projects (links to database page) supports the development of an ongoing series of comprehensive reports and concise analyses on transport GHG emissions.
Two main reports will be developed in preparation of COP21, which will provide a comprehensive picture of the emissions trends and mitigation potential of the transport sector in various countries for the pre- and post-2020 periods.
The first report will highlight pre-2020 transport emission projections and mitigation options:
1. Report on Pre-2020 Transport Emissions Projections and Potential
The pre-2020 report currently provides an overview of the emissions projections and mitigation potentials of the transport sector of up to 60 countries. The report is expected to scale up the summary to include data from 100+ countries (without mitigation data) using projection methodologies. A first draft of the pre-2020 report will be released at the end of August 2015.
The second report will provide transport projections and mitigation options till 2030.
2. Report on Post-2020 Transport Emissions Ambition in INDCs
The report on Post-2020 Transport Emissions Ambition in INDCs is currently being developed with projections (for both BAU and low carbon scenarios) for remaining countries and summary analysis of post-2020 data being carried out in September (pending submission of 2030 targets for 50+ countries during this timeframe). A draft of the final report is targeted to be available for limited circulation and review by mid-October 2015. The final report (including both pre- and post-2020 analyses) is targeted for publication and release by mid-November 2015.

To guide the SLoCaT Partnership in its ongoing work on transport sector GHG analysis, it is intended to establish a review panel of external experts. The review panel can also play a role in recommending research directions after COP21.
