The African Voices Towards COP27 blog series features a wide range of local professionals, experts and change makers to elevate voices from African professionals seeking to tackle transport and mobility challenges with context-adapted and cost-effective solutions. 15 blogs were contributed by 26 authors from 14 countries. Collectively, these blogs present a multi-stakeholder space for peers to exchange, learn from one other and explore opportunities for collaboration towards COP27 and beyond.
As part of this African Voices Towards COP27, Mobilise Your City (MYC) and Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) shared African Voices seeking to tackle transport and mobility challenges. 20 City representatives from Across Africa gathered in Dakar, Senegal for the Sustainable Mobility and Climate Week, co-organized by CODATU, CETUD and Climate Change in October 2022. Listen below to 12 voices giving their opinion on the following questions:
1) What is the most pressing transport issue in your city?
2) What kind of commitment do you expect from your national government to address the issue?
3) What is your wish for the international community and how can COP27 address this pressing transport issue?
