Sustainable Development in Action Report on Voluntary Commitments
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, Division for Sustainable Development, published Sustainable Development in Action, as a special edition of the SD in Action Newsletter. The report marks the one-year anniversary of the Rio+20 Conference, and reviews the 1,382 voluntary commitments and partnerships that are to date available in the SD in Action Registry on the Sustainable Development Knowledge Platform (SDKP), and provides an overview of eight Action Networks, including the Sustainable Transport Action Network which was set up in the beginning of 2013 and is facilitated by the SLoCaT Secretariat.
The 17 voluntary commitments on sustainable transport given by SLoCaT members and their partners are also featured in the report. In terms of financial commitments, the Multilateral Development Banks $ 175 billion voluntary commitment for more sustainable transport remains the single largest pledge made at the Rio+20 conference.
