Call for Applications

The Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) and the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) are launching the Young Leaders in Sustainable Transport programme.

In December 2018, the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) published the first global report tracking the progress of transport on climate change. The Transport and Climate Change 2018 Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) brings together information streams on transport and climate change.

The roadmap for low carbon and sustainable mobility in India kicked off in November 2018 under the aegis of PPMC, with the support of WWF in collaboration with FICCI and funded by the Michelin Foundation. The project formed in early 2019 a working group for each of the eight roadmap components. A couple of working group meetings have been already held, such as two meetings on Component 2 (low-carbon energy supply) in February 2019, a meeting on Component 5 (avoid vehicle kilometers) in March 2019 and Component 8 (economic instruments and finance) in February 2019.

The Schipper family and EMBARQ, the sustainable urban mobility initiative of WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, are accepting applications for the 2019 Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarship for Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency.

On 8 December, the SLoCaT Partnership released the inaugural edition of the Transport and Climate Change Global Status Report (TCC-GSR) at the 24th Conference of the Parties (COP24) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The report is a resource for policy-makers. It supports countries, cities, states and provinces, and the private sector in their efforts to raise ambition on climate mitigation and adaptation in sustainable transport.

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) release a new report on low carbon transport in IsDB member countries. The report shows major challenges and needs, potential transport policy activities and areas of required action.

Just in time for the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP24 in Katowice, Poland, SUTP is proud to announce that the 10 Principles for Sustainable Transport Poster is now available in Polish.

A Workshop on Capacity Building Strategy for the Implementation of Low Carbon High Volume Transport in South Asia was organised by the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT), under the framework of the Applied Research Programme in High Volume Transport (HVT) by the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom (DFID) on 2 October 2018.
