Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum in Africa

Background:

This side event hosted by SSATP and the World Bank aims to establish an Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Africa that will provide a platform to develop and promote a vision of environmentally sustainable transport for Africa. Successful EST Forums already exist in Asia and Latin America, and this stakeholder consultation process is intended to develop the concept for establishing an EST Forum for Africa.

Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP): Roundtable with stakeholders

The purpose of this event is to discuss with stakeholders attending the Governing Council meeting the Sub-Saharan Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP) work-program under its proposed ‘Third Development Plan period’ (DP3 2014-2018) currently under preparation. Urban mobility will become a key focus area for SSATP under DP3, with a substantially enhanced profile under SSATP's work. Thus, for the next program period, SSATP considers UN Habitat to be a key partner.
