The SLOCAT Partnership is looking for a Programme Manager to advance our technical and operational work at the nexus of transport, climate, sustainable development, energy, health, and finance.
Reporting directly to SLOCAT Secretary General Carly Gilbert-Patrick, this role drives SLOCAT’s engagement in key global and regional processes, including the UNFCCC, the Fossil Fuel Phase-out, the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport, and the SDGs. The Programme Manager will oversee complex projects across SLOCAT’s core workstreams: advocacy and outreach, data, knowledge and research, and communications, ensuring clear scope, well-defined plans, proactive risk management, and robust donor compliance.
The role combines programme planning and delivery with substantive technical expertise and strategic engagement in global processes. It also involves direct engagement with UN agencies, SLOCAT partners, senior government officials, Multilateral Development Banks, international donors, and foundations at high-level international forums. The Programme Manager works closely with the Grants & Finance team and the Knowledge Management & Governance team.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in sustainable transport, climate, or related fields, with demonstrated knowledge of global and regional processes including UNFCCC, NDCs, the Global Stocktake, and the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport. Strong project management experience, familiarity with resource mobilisation and donor engagement, and robust knowledge management skills are required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field and fluency in English are essential; French, Spanish, or Arabic are desirable.
This is a remote position, available between 50 and 100% FTE. Regular international travel is required. Candidates must have existing work authorisation in their country of residence.
