New Climate Economy Report (2015) Showcases the Role of Transport Sector in Achieving Low Carbon Economic Growth

The 2015 New Climate Economy Report’, published by The New Climate Economy, identifies ten key areas of opportunity for stronger climate action which will also bring significant economic benefits. Transport is listed under two of the ten key areas to facilitate a low carbon, sustainable economic growth.

The SLoCaT Partnership is pleased to announce that it has joined the Transformative Actions Program (TAP) as a partner.

The TAP, coordinated by ICLEI, aims to accelerate implementation of climate action of local and subnational governments by scaling up their direct investments and engagement in national and global mechanisms.

Yet, transport is responsible for 1.24 million traffic fatalities per year, as well as high levels of urban air pollution and congestion in many cities.

This meeting took place during the sixth part of the second session of the ADP (ADP 2.6.), taking place from 20 –25 October 2014 in Bonn, Germany.
